The President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Macky Sall, accompanied by a large delegation of officials, including the Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Microfinance and the President of the Economic and Social Council, visited the site of the Marian shrine of Popenguine this month to see how the work was progressing.
On site, he was welcomed by a number of personalities, including Monseigneur Benjamin NDIAYE, Archbishop of Dakar, and Jean Augustin CARVALO, the project architect, as well as the companies involved in the project, including SERTEM GROUPE, represented by its Managing Director, Mr Taslim Ngom, its Works Director, its Operations Director and its workers.
Bishop Benjamin expressed the gratitude of Senegal's Christian community to the State and the various parties involved in the project. Sertem is participating in the project by carrying out the structural work, and the construction of this sacred site, with all its amenities, will provide thousands of Catholic pilgrims with a better spiritual experience.
